Terms of Service
Last updated: June 5, 2026
These terms cover your use of DivorceMaybe. Reading them takes a few minutes and saves a lot of misunderstandings.
Who can use the site
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must register with a real, working email address you control.
- You must not impersonate someone else, or sign up on someone else's behalf without their permission.
What you can post
DivorceMaybe is a support and directory site. Posts and listings should be helpful, honest, and respectful. The following are prohibited:
- Spam, scams, link farms, and unsolicited promotion.
- Harassment, threats, hate speech, or doxxing other members.
- Illegal content, including content that infringes copyright.
- Pretending to be a verified professional, or misrepresenting your qualifications, jurisdiction, or licensure.
- Sharing another member's identifying information (real name, employer, address) without their consent.
Admins may remove content that violates these terms and may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly do so.
Verification of professionals
Lawyer and counselor accounts are verified by our team before listings become visible in public search. Verification confirms publicly-listed credentials but is not a substitute for your own due diligence. Always confirm a professional's current standing in your jurisdiction before engaging their services.
Not legal or medical advice
Forum threads, listings, and any content here are starting points for conversations — they are not legal or medical advice. A real consultation with a licensed professional is the only thing that fits. DivorceMaybe is not responsible for actions you take based on community advice.
Your account
- You are responsible for your password and for activity under your account.
- You can request deletion by contacting us through the contact form. Deletion anonymises your public content and removes your private data.
Direct messaging
Use direct messaging respectfully. Do not send unsolicited bulk messages. Do not use it to harass, threaten, or attempt to extract identifying information from members. Recipients can block, report, and ignore.
Liability
DivorceMaybe is provided "as is." We try to keep it running, secure, and useful, but we don't guarantee uptime, accuracy of listings, or outcomes of any professional engagement initiated through the site. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us, which for free accounts is zero.
Changes
We may update these terms over time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
