Pinned for safety: if you're still in an unsafe situation, the Safety hub has the quick-exit button and hotlines. For those who've made it out: what's the one practical step that mattered most? (Copies of documents in a friend's car? A separate email account? Cash stashed somewhere?) Your answer might be the answer somebody else needs.

Counselor speaking carefully — please use the Safety hub linked at the top if you're still in an unsafe situation. The "one thing" I hear most often from clients who made it out: a separate email account on a device he couldn't see. That account became how they reached lawyers, friends, and eventually us.
