NAME

clinic-website — A clinic website rebuilt by hand from WordPress, with an editor the staff use

SYNOPSIS

A small clinic’s WordPress site, rebuilt without plugins, with a page editor the clinic runs itself.

SITUATION

A small health clinic. Its WordPress site needed plugins patched all the time, and staff could not change a page without help.

WHAT I CHANGED

  • Rebuilt the site by hand, with no WordPress and no plugins to keep patching.
  • Built a block-based page editor, so the clinic changes its own pages.
  • Contact-form requests go straight to the clinic’s own inbox.
  • Built a staging copy and compared it with the live site before the switch-over.
  • Moved the site to a virtual server the clinic owns.

HOW IT WAS CHECKED

MeasureBeforeAfter
Staging copy matching the live site before switch-over—16 of 16 checks
Plugins to patchWordPress plugins0
  • Compared the staging copy with the live site on 16 checks; all 16 matched before the switch-over.
  • The site stores no patient information.

STACK

  • Hand-written PHP
  • nginx
  • virtual server

Have something like this on your plate?

About an hour, on site or remote. I look and change nothing. You get a written plan in plain language, with the three things I would do first.
